TLcom Capital, la société de capital-risque centrée sur l’Afrique, connue pour avoir fait des paris sur Andela et Twiga, lève 150 millions de dollars pour son deuxième fonds destiné à réaliser des investissements précoces et avancés. La société a atteint une première clôture de 70 millions de dollars, presque l’équivalent de ce que TLcom Capital a levé dans le TIDE Africa Fund, son premier fonds qui a réalisé sa première clôture en 2017 et sa clôture finale en février 2020
TLcom déclare vouloir ajouter 20 startups supplémentaires à son portefeuille. La taille des billets dans ces entreprises ira de 500 000 dollars à 15 millions de dollars. L’entreprise adaptera très probablement sa structure de fonds comme la première : une partie du capital pour les startups en démarrage, tandis que le reste sera destiné aux nouvelles séries ou aux séries de suivi d’entreprises en croissanceon premier chèque du deuxième fonds était un investissement principal dans SeamlessHR. Les 12 sociétés du portefeuille actuel de TLcom sont basées au Nigeria ou au Kenya. Avec son nouveau fonds, TLcom étendra son attention à l’Égypte tout en réalisant davantage d'investissements en Afrique de l’Est et de l’Ouest.et en phase avancée.
